Rawhide isn’t made for consumption. It is not considered a food item and is only supposed to be used for chewing. This is worrying when you see the Hide diminishing during the chewing process.
Traditional commercial Rawhide is produced using toxic chemicals and additives. Chemicals are used to strip the skin, bleach the hide white and slow the decaying process.
Our collagen chews are edible and natural as well as having other benefits. They also still fulfil your dogs need to chew.
No, Fish Hide is typically completely natural and is made from 100% dried fish skin. Rawhide on the other hand is a by product of leather making, and isn't actually classed as edible 'food', and instead is simply just for chewing. But of course, how should we expect our dogs to know not to swallow what they're chewing?
And with rawhide being full of additives and chemicals, and with the ability to cause digestive obstruction, it's just a complete no-go. Alternatively, fish hide is a natural and completely safe way for your dog to get in a long chewing sesh.
Firstly, Fish Hide is made from 100% natural ingredients - meaning no chemicals are used during the production process (unlike rawhide).
