Max, Kerry Irving’s beloved Lake District Spaniel, didn’t just change his owner’s life – he's inspired thousands of people to get outside, walk, and talk.
After a serious accident left Kerry struggling with chronic pain and depression, Max gave him a reason to get outside, step by step.
Their daily walks quickly captured hearts online, drawing thousands of followers on Facebook and Instagram. Together, they’ve raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity, and Max became the first non-service dog ever to receive a commendation - before being uplifted and awarded the PDSA Order of Merit, for his extraordinary impact on people’s lives across the world.
Though Max passed in 2022, his legacy lives on. Kerry continues to lead community fundraising walks alongside his four spaniels Paddy, Harry, Tally and Duggy. And to date, Kerry and his dogs have raised over £1.2M for charity!
